Nicole R. Villemarette-Pittman, PhD, is a Director of Clinical Research at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. She joined Ochsner in January 2022 and oversees the Neuroscience Research Center of Excellence, the Cardiology Research Center of Excellence, Ochsner BioDesign Lab, and the Clinical Research Internship. Dr. Villemarette-Pittman is Co-Chair of the Investigator-Initiated Study Review Committee, Co-Chair of the Research Advisory Council in Neuroscience and Member of the Academic Culture Committee. She is an Associate Professor (Hon) at the University of Queensland Medical School in Brisbane, Australia and Gratis Faculty at LSU Health Sciences Center - New Orleans, Department of Neurology. Dr. Villemarette-Pittman and Dr. Fawad Khan are co-founders of the Louisiana Epilepsy Care and Research Consortium. She is a board member of the LA Epilepsy Foundation. Dr. Villemarette-Pittman serves as Managing Editor of the international neurology journal, Journal of the Neurological Sciences (JNS). JNS is the official journal of the World Federation of Neurology and promotes global neurology, best practices, clinical outcomes, and basic and translational science.
Dr. Fawad A. Khan is a physician in New Orleans specializing in neurology, epilepsy and seizure disorders, headache care, and dizziness. He completed his residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill in adult neurology. Dr. Khan completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
